Who is Harbinger?
Marcy Crosby
Marcy was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Her parents were wonderful, Christian examples to her and her siblings and brought them up faithfully in the Lutheran Church. She learned a strong work ethic, a respect for God’s Creation and a great deal about the hardware business from her father, Howard. Her mother, Bobbie, showed her how to persevere through tough times and still make life fun. Marcy and her husband Joe have two incredible daughters and a precious granddaughter.
Marcy is the alto in the group. She’s sung in choirs most of her life but would never have imagined being a part of something like Harbinger. Then she met Dave and Laura at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellisville, MO and when they were placed on a praise team together for the first time it was...well, incredible! God was working here…there was no other way to describe it.
When she’s not singing (which doesn’t leave much time unaccounted for) Marcy enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with her girls. She stays in Bible study with her husband, worships every Sunday, and has daily Bible and prayer time one on one with her Savior. She prays that God will use her to be an effective witness for Christ through her singing and through her life as she lives it out. Marcy longs to hear Him say:
"Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master’s happiness!"
Matthew 25:21
Dave Schaller
"Dr. Dave" to his Chiropractic patients, has been in the music biz since he was a kid, but Christian music only in the last 20 years or so. As the Old Man of the group, this goes back pretty far. Dave learned to sing and play violin way back in the early 60s and has attempted to learn to play most any stringed instrument he can lay his hands on. Over the years he has played in concert orchestras, big bands, country, rock and bluegrass bands.
How do you thank a family enough for sending you to Christian schools from grade school to high school? Sundays going to church were not even an option....the whole family went and the Schallers were better for it! Nightly devotions and asking Bible "trivia" was a mainstay at the Schaller home during Dr. Dave's formative "Cheesehead" days. And now the legacy goes on in the Missouri Schaller household.
Married to a wonderful Prayer Warrior, Sharon, (over 26 years now), the two have raised 5 beautiful children, Joshua, Jordan, Caleb, Grace and Josiah and they live in the St. Louis, MO "burbs"
He never would have imagined playing and singing Christian music "out" until that fateful day (is there really such a thing?) when Laura, Marcy and he were "thrown together" as a Praise Group at St. John Lutheran. This type of music is quite a stretch for a conservatively raised WELS boy. Why, even his great-great-great grandfather, great-great-grandfather, great-grandfather, grandfather, uncle, cousins, brother-in-law (and perhaps son) were/are all conservative pastors. Truthfully, they probably would be thankful he's doing this line of music and not the other stuff.
AMAZING GRACE, HOW SWEET THE SOUND THAT SAVED A WRETCH LIKE ME!

Laura Hickham
Laura feels fortunate that she grew up in a Christian home and really doesn't remember a day that she didn't know God. It's not that her parents were overly religious, but they always tried to love her unconditionally and for that she is forever grateful. Laura's family was never perfect, but they were real and she thinks others appreciated that about them.
Laura spent most of her early life in Gulfport, MS and graduated from the University of Mississippi. At 12 years old, she and her twin sister prayed to receive Christ in the same prayer at a Youth Revival at their church. Laura went to First Baptist Church and that is where her Minister of Music took her aside and said she had a gift in singing. She didn't think she really understood what he meant at the time, but over the years it has meant more to her and truly is a gift. It was not something earned, but simply a gift that God gave. You can do a lot of things with gifts and Laura decided she wanted to develop her gift and share it with others.
Laura's outside job is in sales for a nationwide computer consulting company. She's been doing this type of work for over 10 years and has sales, recruiting, and operations experience.
Besides her twin sister, Laura has two older brothers. Her siblings are scattered all over the U.S. but communicate with each other often. She feels fortunate to have a family that knows and serves God.
In 2006, Laura wed Tim in a fabulous ceremony held in the old Community Center in Franklin, TN. Within a year they were the proud parents of twins; Sara and Nathan.
This trio is a dream Laura has had for a long time and it is exciting to see dreams come true knowing that when you delight yourself in God He will give you the desires of your heart. Her desire for people that hear Harbinger's music is that it will bring them to the place where they can worship God and give Him all the glory for all the good that has happened in their lives. She also desires that those who don't know God or have moved away from Him will experience His love and grace and know that He is their Father. He wants them to run into His arms regardless of where their life has been or will go.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, that not of yourself; it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
